Unusual sights and family fun await at the Maria Stein Country Fest

Have you ever seen 8 two-ton tractors dance? Well, here's your chance. That is just one of the unique sights to behold when you attend the 27th annual Maria Stein Country Fest on Friday, June 27, Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29 in Maria Stein, Ohio.

Maria Stein Country Fest Taking place on the grounds of the National Marion Shrine of the Holy Relics, this free, family-friendly country festival offers a wide variety of activities and entertainment that will serve the interests of all ages.

A spotlight attraction at the event is the Country Fest Tractor Square Dancers where visitors can watch as 8 full size tractors driving in 3rd gear "dance" to familiar square dances in an arena creating intricate patterns with their machines as they follow the commands of a caller. You don't want to miss the opportunity to watch tractors doing a 'do-si-doe" and promenade around the arena.

The Tractor Square Dancers will be giving 5 performances during the Festival. Visitors can watch their elaborate and complicated maneuvers at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Saturday and at 3:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Another big attraction this year will be the Big Foot monster truck with a car crushing show to be held on Sunday at 9 p.m.

Other Festival activities include a craft show, a Mini-Indy car race, chainsaw carving, a cruise-in car show, a Diaper Derby, tractor pulls, a dodgeball tournament, Go-Kart races, a corn hole tournament, amusement rides ($5 for all-weekend wristbands) and volleyball and basketball tournaments.

New this year will be the Pirates of the Caribbean Aerial High Wire Show and Garden Tractor Drag Racing. Be sure to also pay a visit to the petting zoo.

The County Fest will have lots of free musical entertainment for visitors to enjoy and of course, there will be plenty of food (including chicken dinners) and beverages available for purchase.

Hours for the Maria Stein Country Fest are 5 p.m. - midnight on Friday, 9 a.m. - 11 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m - 11 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free for all but there are some fees for the amusement rides. Parking is free.
