Henderson Alvarez’s no-hitter on Sunday has created such excitement tickets from the game are still worth money. The Marlins, who finished dead last in the NL in attendance, are trying to make some money out of Alvarez’s big day.
The Marlins announced on Monday that they will sell 9,100 unused tickets to Sunday’s no-hitter for $15 a per ticket on their MLB.com site and at the team store at Marlins Park. Sales of those unsold tickets will count as attendance and therefore push the team beyond its official paid attendance figures of 28,315 for the day and 1,586,322 for the season. This still isn't anticipated to help much with their poor attendance stats this season.

Being able to say you were at Henderson Alvarez's no-hitter is apparently the next-best-thing to having been there. At least that's what the Miami Marlins think, as they begin selling the 9,100 unused tickets from Sunday's 1-0 win over the Tigers for $15 a ticket. This just goes to show you winning really is often everything.
