It cracks me up when I meet people who don’t drink beer. For one, you can bet they formed their attitudes about the malted grain beverage well before the recent craft beer revolution that’s been redefining the industry. Most of the haters don’t know about all the wild and delicious permutations beer is going through. Don’t they know beer is the new wine? Dummies! Anyway, it’s probably for the best, because that means more of the good stuff for us beer lovers at this weekend’s Untapped Indie Music & Beer Festival at Gilley’s. Produced by Paste Magazine, the celebration boasts over 70 craft brewers and showcases some of the finest craft brews from around the world. That’s right, indulge your thirsting taste buds with selections from colossal beer heavyweights like New Belgium and Unibroue. Or show your love for all things local with the newest offerings from Texas brewers like Deep Ellum, Revolver and Lakewood. At Untapped, expect an abundance of craft beer styles, sure to please the surliest of palates. A line up of indie rockers on the main stage promises to keep spirits high and an armada of food trucks will hopefully prevent amateurs from getting too tipsy.
