With a marine air mass firmly locked in place throughout New Jersey today, disturbance will try to drive into the air mass from the west leading to periods of clouds and showers through this weekend. While, not everyone will experience rainfall, those that do can expect the showers to be capable of heavy downpours.
Today through Saturday, scattered to overcast cloud cover can be expected with widely scattered showers. The showers will be capable of a brief heavy downpour at times. Otherwise, many locations will remain dry and a bit humid. Winds will be variable from the southeast to northeast at 5 to 10 mph. Temperatures will range from the lower to mid 80's in the Delaware River valley to the upper 70's to lower 80's along the immediate coast for highs this afternoon. Low temperatures tonight will range from the mid to upper 60's throughout New Jersey. High temperatures tomorrow will range from the upper 70's to lower 80's over southwestern New Jersey and mid to upper 70's throughout the rest of the Garden State. Temperatures on Saturday will range from the mid to upper 60's for lows and mid to upper 70's for highs throughout New Jersey.
On Sunday, skies will clear from northeast to southwest leading to clear skies by evening. Winds will be from the northeast and north at 5 to 10 mph. Temperatures will range from the lower to mid 60's for lows and upper 70's to lower 80's for highs throughout New Jersey.
High pressure will be in complete control Monday on through Wednesday with clear skies to scattered cloud cover. Temperatures will average near normal through the period. Low temperatures will range from the upper 50's to lower 60's over northern New Jersey and lower to mid 60's over central and southern New Jersey. High temperatures will range from the upper 70's to lower 80's along the coast and lower to mid 80's in the Delaware River Valley.
Overall, the most significant widespread weather impact will be cloud cover as I do not expect much in the way of rainfall, even with these disturbances. Temperatures will average near to below normal but still rather humid.
