After the coldest winter in over three decades in Buffalo, NY, early spring temperatures have seen several days of above normal readings.
The high temperature in Buffalo, NY today, as recorded at the NWS at the Buffalo airport, was 76 degrees. That reading, a full 22 degrees above normal for the date, occurred just before noon.
However, the warm air will be short lived. A strong cold front will pass through the region overnight with showers and a wind shift to the west/northwest. Temperatures through all levels of the atmosphere will cool enough to change any rain over to snow for Western New York by Tuesday as readings won't get out of the 30's. A slushy 1-3" of snow is expected. Clearing skies with high pressure will move back into the region by Wednesday as temperatures stay below normal through mid-week.
