A Delta Air Lines flight from Seattle to Amsterdam, Holland, turned around just 30 minutes after take-off on Saturday night after a passenger's behavior concerned the flight crew. The aircraft was swept for illegal items after the passengers deplaned and the man was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Nothing was found during the inspection of the aircraft to warrant further action according to Transportation Security Administration officers.
The flight, Delta 224, left Seattle-Tacoma International Airport shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday evening and was back on the ground at 7:27 p.m. It had been scheduled to arrive in The Netherlands at 12:10 Sunday afternoon. After the unexpectd return to Seattle the flight was cancelled.
The aircraft was a Boeing 767-300 and carried 214 passengers. Delta was working with the delayed travelers on alternate accommodations to get them to their destination.

Was this passenger a former Examiner contributor, perhaps?..those that can't maintain their sense of humor eventually just develop assorted psychoses...have you seen my ice pick?
Cheers..
I'm going to report this comment...
It's a shame somebody's nuttiness can't be picked up during the security check before you are allowed on a plane!
Wonder what they did and if it was an over-reaction.
I was on this flight. The man that was arrested had a nervous breakdown and was psychotic. He was very agetated when we checked in and started screaming when we took off. The air marshals arrested him. Delta handled this incident very badly. We all were given a food check for 6$ and put in a hotel. The next day Delta flew us in to AMS with a 3 hour delay.
Got something to say?
