According to the Associated Press via News 24 on Feb. 16, AA spokesperson Kent Powell relayed that the man in question would not adhere to flight crew instructions.
Shades of the unruly passenger on an Icelandic flight headed to New York who was in the same situation last month and was taped to his seat as a way to control his actions.
Not this time.
Because of his behavior, the man who was hoping to go to London from Chicago was kicked off the American Airlines plane he was riding and was then turned over to the proper authorities on the ground in Gander, Newfoundland.
Further details are sketchy although AA's Powell did say that the aircraft was ready to take off again after refueling. That said, flight 86 will once again be headed to Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom.
And so, as an unruly passenger causes an eastern Canada landing for a Chicago-London flight, the rest of those on board will continue on to their intended destination. Stay tuned for updates as this story unfolds.
