Unreleased 'Quit Hatin'' Aaliyah track surfaces online

During a week which would have been late singer Aaliyah's 34th birthday, a track featuring her vocals has surfaced online. A previously unreleased R&B tune, presumably titled “Quit Hatin',” was leaked on Friday.

“Quit Hatin'” follows “Enough Said,” an Aaliyah song rapper Drake tweaked for released back in August. While he owned up to releasing the latter, much mystery still surrounds the former as to where it came from. It is highly speculated that the estate possessing her music released the track in honor of what would have been her 34th birthday.

“Quit Hatin'” is another posthumous Aaliyah track with her light vocals added on to a contemporary electro-R&B sound. Over atmospheric production and a scattering drum machine, Aaliyah sings about falling for a bad boy despite her friends saying to stay away from him.

Following the release of “Enough Said,” there were talks about a new Aaliyah album being released, but the commotion around the project died down in recent months. New album or not, it's just great to her voice again on a fresh track.
