Star Wars Day is once again occurring at Disneyland Park on June 22nd and is hitting a milestone anniversary. For ten years, this unofficial holiday has been a fan favorite and is great fun. Star Wars fans are invited to be a part of this special event.

Star Wars Day has a fascinating history. According to the Star Wars Day website "It started as a protest to Disney about the lack of Star Wars Weekends here at our Disneyland and has now turned into a massive fan get together! " Soon, many began to join and for ten years the Star Wars Day event has grown to become a great event. The Star Wars Day at Disneyland is not affiliated with Disney nor LucasFilms but is just a fan event that has gained a lot of steam. There are a lot of things to do at Disneyland to celebrate the day such as a ride through Star Tours: The Adventure Continues.

For those who plan to attend the event, there will be a group photo opportunity in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle. Star Wars fan clubs such as the Fan Force, 501st Legion, which is an organization dedicated to the villains of Star Wars (while doing good works for others!) and Rebel Legion, which also gives back to the community as well as takes an interest in the Star Wars Universe.

Although wearing costumes are not permitted during this event wearing a Star Wars themed t-shirts is encouraged. Star Wars Day event t-shirts are available for sale and profits will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
