An official announcement hasn't come, yet, from Turner Scott Motorsports (formerly Turner Motorsports) identifying Danica Patrick as the latest driver to join the organization's driver stable, but several news outlets including ESPN.com and Yahoo! Sports reported earlier this month that the reigning NASCAR Nationwide Series Most Popular Driver has signed on to compete in 10 Nationwide races with TSMS in 2013.
According to the reports, Patrick's Nationwide Series efforts with the team will be financially backed by her longtime sponsor, GoDaddy. Because no official announcement has been made, Patrick's specific Nationwide schedule with Turner Scott is not known, although reports do have her competing in the Feb. 23 season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. According to these same reports, unnamed sources also have Patrick competing in series races at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway and Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International.
Patrick plans to compete full-time in the Sprint Cup Series this year, driving a No. 10 Chevrolet for Stewart-Haas Racing as a teammate to that organization's co-owner Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman. She previously competed in the Nationwide Series for the Dale Earnhardt Jr.-owned JR Motorsports. After running partial Nationwide schedules in 2010 and 2011, she competed in the series full-time in 2012. She finished out last season 10th in the driver points standings, the highest ever of any female driver on the circuit.
