John 17:13-20 (NLT)
“Now I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy. I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth. I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.”
Do you see yourself in God’s Word? Look closely. You are right there tucked in the midst of the Lord’s Fervent Prayer just before He was tried and crucified. Still don’t see yourself? “But also for all who will ever believe in me through their message…” There we are right there. As Jesus prepared to return to His Father by way of the Cross, His Full Attention was on those who would be left behind – His People – all of them. He knew that the evil one would rage against them in the midst of his devastating loss and would wreak havoc on God’s Own Children. We are born into this world, but we are not of this world. What exactly does that mean? Why has this world become the natural habitat of a people born to rule and reign over it who barely can survive in it. What happened? Well, sin happened. We exchanged the Truth for a lie. Choosing unbelief over the Promises of God, sin now bound the souls of all mankind. You were born in bondage so it seems only natural until you meet Jesus and discover freedom from sin and shame being filled with His Holy Spirit. Everything changes…right. For some, yes it does but very few ever transition from living a natural existence for a supernatural experience. We try to foster the love of a world that hates us rather than exposing them to the Truth which is the Word of God. Could it be because we aren’t convinced ourselves just yet? Every single word in the Bible is true yet we choose not to follow them leading to righteousness and holiness. The Body of Christ lives a powerless existence despite the fact that we have been completely empowered to rule and reign over the earth now and forevermore. So why do we choose to live an unnatural existence?
I Corinthians 12:7-11 (NLT)
A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.
Salvation is the access point of supernatural living. You were created to be a Child of God. Sin broke the relationship between you and your Father. Jesus Christ died to restore that relationship. As His Child, you live according to the rules of His House. But He is not an overbearing parent, but one who empowers His Children for success. No Child of the Living God has any excuse not to be healed, whole and successful. It is God’s Will for your life. Sin tried to keep you from it. The enemy wants you to settle for less than God’s Very Best and many people have exchanging the Truth for a lie over and over again. The first man and woman did it in the Garden when they believed the lie of the serpent over God’s Word. Now even with such a great gift as salvation, we still buy into the lie of the enemy and choose not to trust the Lord. (Romans 1:22-25) It is up to God’s People to choose to live in the Light of His Love and not make the same mistake twice by returning to the darkness. (John 3:18-20)
God has given us all spiritual gifts, but like any gift it is useless if it is never opened or utilized. To look at this long list of potential, many will shy back due to religion and doctrine. I rebuke that spirit of religiosity keeping you from living a supernatural life in the Name of Jesus. Remember – this is not the first time religion tried to stop God’s Movement on the earth. It was religion that killed Jesus Christ. These spiritual gifts are not spooky but for our benefit to aid others. We must make the conscious choice today to believe the Truth over the many lies of the enemy. God still speaks to and through His People. Signs and wonders did not die with Jesus on the Cross or when the last of his twelve disciples left this earth for Heaven. We have chosen to let them go rather than holding on to God’s Promises until we have enough faith to believe that they are true!
Matthew 16:16-19 (NLT)
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
I believe that there is Power in the Name of Jesus Christ. When I called on His Name for salvation, I believed in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God, died on the Cross to pay for my sin, and rose again on the third day so that I could live forever. End of story… What I did not realize is that was only the beginning…an access point to put my foot in the door of God’s Kingdom and allow His Glory to overflow in my life. Many years, I was a dormant Christian. When Simon Peter confessed Jesus to be the Messiah, Son of the Living God, he was instantly accepted into the Kingdom of God. His faith would need to be cultivated. He would be tested. Peter would even fail miserable, but thank God for grace that came just in time. Jesus told Peter, “I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in Heaven and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in Heaven.” This same power is yours when you ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. Are you living in the Power of God today? Not many will say yes, even I know there is so much more available. What is stopping us from having the Power of God supernaturally empower our life? We simply do not believe. Like Peter, our faith must increase to pull our perspective above the “winds and waves” that comprise the storms of life all brilliant distractions of the enemy to rob you of destiny, steal all your promises, and kill your potential in the Lord. Well, I for one have had enough. It is unnatural for Children of the Living God to live powerless existences so I am going after the keys to the Kingdom and loose His Presence and Glory in my life.
Genesis 1:26-28 (NLT)
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
We are created in the Image of God to be like Him. We were created to reign over the earth. He blessed humanity and instructed them to fill the earth and govern it. But we gave up our leadership rights to pursue our own interest, sin would banish us from the Presence of God. Jesus Christ came to reestablish a right relationship between God and people. He did that. Now He rules and reigns in Heaven watching and waiting for every man and woman to make a final choice. (I Corinthians 15:24-26) This world will end and His Kingdom will come. (Revelation 5:9-10) The powers of this world know that the end is coming and that Jesus is Lord. (I Peter 3:22) The only thing left for them to do is destroy as many lives as possible before their day comes. The Kingdom of God is not of this world and is only found by those who choose to live in His Presence. (John 8:36) Until people decide to believe God over what they can see, hear, feel and touch – things are not looking so good for the Body of Christ. But those who choose to live a supernatural life as foreigners in this world can experience the power, potential and promises of God as His Will is manifested on the earth. You have the Power and Authority to make this happen as a Child of the Living God. “Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
Matthew 13:56-58 (NLT)
All his sisters live right here among us. Where did he learn all these things?” And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.
There are many people who are living mundane and uneventful lives because they do not believe in the miraculous power of the Living God. When Jesus went to minister in His Hometown of Galilee, his own family refuse to believe. What was the end result? He did only a few miracles because of their unbelief. Is unbelief robbing you of a miraculous life? Is pride stealing God’s Very Best right out from under you without a fight? Anything is possible for those who have faith. You can experience miracles, signs and wonders in your life… if you believe. Are you believing God for anything today? Why not? There is so much more to life than meets the eye discovered by faith and brought forth by belief. Do not limit the potential of your life by living according to human reasoning and limited logic based on worldly perceptions. Get in the Word. Find your promise. Invest your faith in believing it. Watch and wait until it comes. Praise God for it like it is already here. These are the actions of those who believe. Why would God save you to live in poverty, weakness and shame? That just doesn’t make any sense when Jesus Christ said that He came to give us a rich and satisfying life. Don’t sell God short again. Choose to defy your heritage of disbelief and live in the Goodness and Glory of God found by those who choose to believe. “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Are you convinced today that NOTHING can ever separate you from God’s Love? If you knew the Love of God intimately as well as intellectually, you would be completely consumed by it. When we decide that God does in fact love us unconditionally, we will seek His Kingdom fearlessly. Confident hope cultivated by faith tells us that He is faithful and will always deliver. Living in the Presence of God allows us to experience Heaven on earth including His Power and Authority. You must believe that He is a God who rewards those who seek Him! Faith can remain hidden in our heart forever. But once planted, it must grow. Belief promotes action. Trust is freely given when we believe. Now that Jesus Christ has freed you from the bondage of sin to this dying, broken planet – you are free to live a supernatural life. (Hebrews 12:13-15) You now have the Power of the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you that enables you to please God despite the rising up of our flesh in opposition. (Jude 1:18-20) You are now free to live supernaturally. Revival is coming. Miracles will happen. Healing will be complete. The Peace of God will find you and overtake your life once and for all. You will know the Love of God and learn to thrive in it. Do you believe? To believe God completely will turn your natural living conditions into a supernatural life so that anything less seems so unnatural.
2 Peter 1:3-8 (NLT)
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
