UNLV audio students: Beyonce National Anthem auto-tuned beyond belief

Although it was revealed yesterday that Beyonce definitely lip-synced the Star Spangled Banner at the 2013 Inauguration, what many people don't realize is that the voice we heard during the performance was barely Beyonce's real voice; it was auto-tuned beyond belief.

This is what music students determined at the University of Las Vegas this morning in an advanced class on music production. "Beyonce used a special method called 'reverb refrain' where reverb and special tune-pitching software is used to cover up for poor vocals. This is something that somebody like Rebecca Black only does," claims Mario Luna, a Music major at UNLV.

"I don't understand how anybody can say that Beyonce was singing along with the pre-recorded tape. When listening to the separated stereo track, it's obvious her singing was as fake as her hair and songwriting abilities," says Lisa Goldstein, another Music major. "Her use of auto-tune has to be the most extreme by a major artist in years."

As we reported two days ago, Beyonce originally planed to lip-sync her full performance at the Super Bowl. However, things have changed and apparently the pop tart will definitely be singing. Let's hope she doesn't sound as bad as the Black Eyed Peas.
