While final exams have been written and thousands of students have returned home for the summer, Ontario's university campuses are far from empty. Across the province, dozens of university day and overnight summer camps are gearing up for another season of learning, activity, and fun. Ranging from the fine arts, to engineering, to athletics, university summer camps often something for every taste.
Here is a sample of university summer camps running in the eastern Ontario region:
At the University of Ottawa, summer camps include Camp Gee-Gees for sports, games, activities and recreational swims; whereas the Adventures in Engineering and Science Camps offer a broad range of programming for youths such as animation, multimedia-enriched web sites, and robotics.
Carleton University offers a comprehensive Sports Camp roster, including soccer, ringette, basketball, tennis, and even hockey for those who can't wait for the first snowfall. Youth with an interest in science or computer technology may want to enrol in Virtual Ventures.
Queen's University is home to such camps as Science Quest, a day camp for science and technology; Arts Adventure, a camp devoted to the visual and performing arts; Q-Camps, athletic camps for beginners to elite athletes; and Future Quest, an overnight camp focused on community, theology, and leadership.
