Ryan Lomberg, a junior forward for the University of Maine Black Bears, is in trouble with the law, according to multiple reports from USCHO and SB Nation.

Arrested by the Orono, ME Police Department, Lomberg was charged with assault after a confrontation at a party on April 26th. One male was knocked to the floor and then subsequently kicked to the head and midsection. That student suffered a broken nose as well as a concussion from the incident.

Multiple witnesses were interviewed by police after the incident and Lomberg was ultimately charged with assault and disorderly conduct. As such, he has been suspended from all athletic activity pending an investigation.

According to Margaret Nagle, of Maine’s media relations office, "It's an Orono Police investigation. The school is cooperating fully with the police investigation. The school's conduct office will investigate, but due to student privacy laws, we cannot comment on specifics."

Lomberg had eleven goals and seven assists in thirty-four games played last season.
