University of Kansas Hospital hosts annual Girls' Night In

The University of Kansas Hospital is hosting the seventh annual Girls' Night In 6 p.m. February 21 as a fundraiser to benefit the hospital's “A Change of Heart” program.

This program brings women together and encourages heart-healthy assessments and changes in lifestyle. The program also helps women better understand the problems and issues of heart disease and women's symptoms when suffering from this disease.

The event will be located at the Portfolio Kitchen and Home, 215 W. Pershing and features 7,000 square feet of showroom space with five kitchens. Chefs from premiere local restaurants will team with civic leaders to cook heart-healthy bite-sized dishes.

According to the press release, “Student chefs from Wyandotte High School Culinary Program and Broadmoor Bistro, Shawnee Mission School District will also be lending hands in the main kitchen.”

  • Jennifer Maloney, Café’ Sebastienne
