The University of Chicago and NBC 5 will host a candidate forum on Tuesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. The forum will provide the opportunity for the public to meet and learn about the 2014 Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidates. All four Republican candidates will participate including Bill Brady, Kirk Dillard, Bruce Rauner and Dan Rutherford.

The 60-minute forum will feature a moderated round-table conversation format in which the candidates will respond to questions posed by Carol Marin, an award-winning broadcast journalist and NBC 5 Political Editor. The event will also include an additional 30-minute question-and-answer session with the audience at the end. The forum will be broadcast live on NBC 5 (WMAQ-TV) from the David and Reva Logan Center for the Arts’ Performance Hall at the University of Chicago and will also be webcast live.

Event organizers are asking the public to submit their questions for the candidates in advance via social media. A select few social media users’ questions will be chosen for inclusion in the live debate. These users will be invited to attend the event and ask their questions directly to the candidates. People are asked to use the hashtag #ILGovTalk when submitting questions in advance or commenting during the debate.

Those interested in attending the forum are asked to visit, or for up-to-date information on ticketing.
