Every year, Universal Orlando Resort celebrates Mardi Gras at Universal Studios Florida with an ongoing bash that includes concerts, food, street performers, and of course a big parade. The floats are created by Blaine Kern Artists in New Orleans, and each year there are new additions.
For 2013, the park added four new Mardi Gras floats to the collection. Click the video toward the bottom of this article to learn more about them. They celebrate cultures of the world, including India, China, Mexico, and of course New Orleans.
The Indian float brings all the extravagance of Bollywood to Orlando, while the Mexican float will please Halloween Horror Nights fans with its skeletal theme as it salutes the Day of the Dead. There's also a dragon-adorned Chinese New Year float and a salute to jazz in New Orleans that brings a bit of Bourbon Street to the parade.
You can see the four new floats in the slideshow at the top of this article. They made their parade debut on Saturday, February 9, and will continue their performance on select nights through April 20.
The parade features a dozen floats, along with horses, stilt walkers, and street performers. If you'd like to see it, continue on to part two of this article for a full video of the 2013 debut performance on Feb. 9.
