Working Title Films and parent company Universal Pictures are currently in production on the feature film thriller "Contraband," starring Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale. Primetime Emmy winning casting director Tracy Kilpatrick is hiring numerous actors, extras, and stand-ins in the New Orleans area.
"Contraband" is based on the Icelandic film "Reykjavik-Rotterdam," which was released in Iceland October 3rd, 2008. "Reykjavik-Rotterdam" is one of the biggest-budget Icelandic films of all-time, and won five Edda Awards - the national film awards in Iceland. Baltasar Kormákur was producer, writer and lead actor of the original film, and will direct "Contraband" from a screenplay written by Aaron Guzikowski.
The storyline of "Contraband" is about a security guard and former top notch smuggler named Chris Farraday, who ends up with financial difficulties after leaving his life of crime behind. When his brother-in-law becomes targeted by the mob for screwing up on a smuggling job, Farraday comes out of retirement for one last job to save his wife's brother.
