The mega-popular Hasbro board game Battleship is about to come to life on the big screen as an epic naval action adventure. Director Peter Berg will helm the project. Berg starred as an actor playing Dr. Billy Kronk in the hit 20th Century Fox Television series Chicago Hope and has directed such films as The Rundown, Hancock, and The Kingdom.
Brothers Jon and Erich Hoeber have signed on to pen the script. The brothers recently wrote the script for the Di Bonaventura Pictures film Red, starring Bruce Willis and John Malkovich.
Battleship will begin shooting at Baton Rouge, Louisiana's Celtic Studios in August, 2010, and then in Hawaii. The release date is scheduled for May 25, 2012. The auditions and casting information for the film is posted on the following website:
