Quite a while back, a man strolled the earth and uncovered a life so novel it turned into the main issue in mankind's history. A man, who, "however he was as God, did not check equity with God a thing to be gotten a handle on, yet made himself nothing, taking the manifestation of a servant, being conceived in the similarity of men" (Philippians 2:5-8).
Despite the fact that He was human and celestial, the Son of Man had nothing in the characteristic that would have pulled in others to him. Yet in three years, He mended the wiped out, encouraged poor people, served the inconsolable, cast out malevolent spirits, brought sight to the visually impaired and offered want to the miserable. His message was radical and His adoration, unparalleled. Whores, lawmakers, homeless people and lords all were the same to Him and just as meriting adoration — not on account of their value but since God, being the exact meaning of Love, could do no less. He let us know to live essentially, to give liberally and to love unconditionally.
"More amazing adoration has nobody than this, that somebody set out his life for his companions." (John 15:13), Jesus told His supporters. We have to remind ourselves that in those appalling hours Jesus clung the cross, it was about adoration. We can't fathom that sort of all-consuming, all-influential Love, yet we can use whatever is left of our lives living in wholehearted reaction to it.
How would we do that? "Stroll in a way deserving of the Lord, completely satisfying to him, proving to be fruitful in every great work and expanding in the learning of God" (Colossians 1:10, stresses added].
It's agreeable we please Jesus by proving to be fruitful. Yet what sort of tree grown foods? The apples and oranges that originates from each great work. Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are his workmanship, made in Christ Jesus for great works...that we ought to stroll in them." This is our motivation, one we have been radiantly restored to by the Resurrection and which streams characteristically from our restored character. Works can't spare us, yet without the tree grown foods of acts of kindness, we fail to offer the confirmation that distinguishes us as new manifestations in Christ! In the same way that God's tendency is uncovered in what He does, we uncover His inclination in what we do.
What are these acts of kindness? While nourishing poor people, apparel the stripped and going to the penniless are representations of the Christian life, they speak to just a halfway "rundown" of the works Jesus performed. For a complete rundown, read the Word with the sole plan of distinguishing each activity verb — those "acts of kindness" that both Jesus and His followers polished; then supplicate that His Holy Spirit will engage you to "go and do similarly!" Halleluiah, He is Risen!

"A vocation is a fruit that ripens in a well cultivated field of mutual love that becomes mutual service, in the context of an authentic ecclesial life. No vocation is born of itself or lives for itself. A vocation flows from the heart of God and blossoms in the good soil of faithful people, in the experience of fraternal love. We are designed with a dreaming brain and a hopeful spirit; it is our nature to envision the life of our dreams. And while dreaming comes easy to us, we must never forget that it takes strength, dedication, and courageous action to bring that dream to life."
