If you live in New York and love shopping, you know how big Fashion's Night Out (FNO) has become here. Designers, models, actors and even athletes completely take over NYC for a night of fun, shopping and sometimes free swag, drinks and food.
Unfortunately for us New Yorkers and the rest of the country, Fashion's Night Out will not be happening this September. However, feel free to travel to the 19 other countries who will still be celebrating FNO.
The event was started in 2009 in an effort to help boost the local economy and quickly gained a following within NYC and around the world. However, many designers were apparently unhappy that they have had to invest a lot of money into these FNO events rather than putting the money towards their own fashion shows and other objectives. With all of this in mind, Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and NYC & Co, who are the sponsors for the event, decided to put FNO on hiatus for 2013.
