December 27 and the news is spreading fast of the Christmas Day release of United Pop 2011. The title "World Go Boom" reflects the song theme that runs through the video with various pop artist songs woven throughout the video. Each year DJ Earworm produces a mashup of the year's top 25 'POP' songs, taken straight off the pop charts. This year Earworm included the lastest pop hits so that the year is more evenly represented.
Starting this year's mashup with a boom, the song title "World Go Boom" is incorporated into the video title: "DJ Earworm Mashup - United State of Pop 2011 (World Go Boom)". The video theme has economic, world distress, and celebrities competing for the limelight. Filled with lots of dancing, smiles and an upbeat tempo this videos is more fun than last year's mashup according to many fans. Tattoos are strewn throughout and the scene of Rhianna being tattooed with the name 'Worm' seemed like clever PR work. The words throughout the song give a positive spin on how to handle depressing news.
"We’re not going to stop.. Let it happen, keep on dancin', until the world go boom, boom, boom"
The song mashup this year lets the world know that no matter what happens there is still life, hope and fun. People do not have to give into the depression or dreariness regarding the end of the world or doomsday reports. No matter what we can choose to 'keep on dancing.'
This video is a wonderfully produced number that has celebrities by the score integrated with their most popular song. The songs weave in and out of the main song making a wonderful tapestry of music with a solid visual impact.
