Today is the kickoff for the United Nations Association Film Festival. I bet you didn't know the United Nation Association had a film festival. Well, catch up! This is the 16th annual film festival and your opportunity to see world premiere documentaries.
The theme of this years festival is, "Individual to Universal." More than 20 documentary films will be premiered during the festival from U.S. filmmakers as well as submissions from India, Indonesia and Jamaica. The films will cover a wide range of topics including LGBT refugees, The Holocaust, renewable energy and human trafficking. The film "Eleanor Roosevelt: Close to Home" will from award winning U.S. filmmaker Anne Makepeace will be shown opening night in Palo Alto.
The festival runs through October 27 with films being shown at various venues throughout Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, Stanford University and San Francisco. Tickets can be purchased per film for ten dollars, or a festival pass can be purchased for $180.
