This Friday, January 4, 2013, is Art Walk. With exceptional venues like the Art League of Fort Myers on Monroe, Art of the Olympians in the City Pier Building at the end of Hendry Street, Articulture Gallery & Tattoo Studio, Arts for ACT Gallery & Boutique, Enjewel, HOWL Gallery/Tattoo, Ocasiocasa Studio Gallery, Reverie & Rock Art Gallery, the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, Space 39 and UNIT A Contemporary Art Space on Evans Avenue, there’s much to sample and savor.
UNIT A Contemporary Art Space will be displaying Jansen works that have just returned from out of state for rotation. While UNIT A's location around the corner from the Lee County Tax Assessor’s Office on Evans Avenue is a bit off the path beaten by Art Walkers, the art inside this sophisticated contemporary art space more than justifies the 10-block jaunt or short drive by car or the trolley that it takes to reach it. That’s because this chic contemporary art space is home to the brilliant and historically significant work of local artist Marcus Jansen, The works on exhibit for Art Walk will only be at the UNIT for limited time, so be sure to include UNIT A as one of your art stops on January 4.
