Scottsdale based Iron Boy Promotions, announced that it's show this Saturday, July 26 will be televised on Unimas' Solo Boxeo Tecate series. "Iron Boy IV," is being presented by Iron Boy Promotions in association with Top Rank Boxing, and will take place at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix.

The action-packed card will feature Top Rank welterweight sensation and Valley resident, Jose Benavidez Jr. as the main event. Fighting in his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona, it will be his first fight in Phoenix since his win over Corey Alarcon back in 2011. In that bout, Benavidez delivered the goods and won by TKO in round 4. Benavidez (20-0 14KO) is coming off a May victory over Gary, Indiana’s Angel Hernandez in Fresno. Hernandez was down three times in the fight, which ended in a wide unanimous decision in Benavidez’s favor.

Benavidez will be fighting for the vacant NABF Welterweight Youth title, “I’m very excited to fight in my hometown, and I’m especially excited about fighting for the NABF Welterweight Youth Title,” said Benavidez. “It was great that my May fight was broadcast for the fans at home on Solo Boxeo Tecate, and now they’ll get a chance to see me live. We’re preparing for and expecting a tough fight.”

The card will also feature light heavyweight, Trevor McCumby (15-0, 12 KOs), the kid is a knockout artist to say the least. McCumby had a stellar amateur career, his record ended at 138 wins, 11 losses. In 2010 McCumby won the under 19-year-old National Championship and was destined to turn pro. Built with speed and power, McCumby has turned out to be a well rounded fighter and has a solid chin.

In a super featherweight bout, Top Rank prospect Oscar Valdez will be fighting on this card. At 23-years-old, Valdez is the proud owner of the NABF Super Lightweight Youth title. “I’m excited to be fighting in Arizona, so close to my hometown of Nogales. I want to give the fans a great show and I’m pumped about showing everyone why I’m tomorrow’s next big star,” said Valdez. The young fighter is a natural, he has been victorious in all of his bouts, racking up eleven wins, all by knockouts.

Looking to keep their perfect records in tact, Francisco C. De Vaca will battle in a super bantamweight bout, and the hard hitting flyweight, Alexis Zazueta will hope to improve his record to 3-0. Without a doubt, it will be a crowd pleaser to watch as they continue their quest for a shot at a title. According to Boxrec, a total of nine fights are scheduled, but are subject to change.

The weigh-in will take place Friday, July 25 at 2 p.m. at the Crescent Crown, 1640 W. Broadway Rd. in Mesa. The weigh-in is open to the public and the fighters will be available for photos and autographs.
