When French fashion label Emanuel Ungaro appointed Lindsay Lohan as its Artistic Director with a multi-year contract, it sent the fashion world into a frenzy.  Many speculated that this was nothing more than a publicity stunt, but Ungaro CEO Mounir Mofarrige (who has since stepped down) stood by his decision predicting “It will be an explosive combination.”  Explosive it was, debuting a collection that was little more than too-high hemlines, pasties and too-tight dresses.  The audience at the Spring 2010 show responded to the collection with audible gasps and minimal applause, and the reviews were anything but kind.

It seems that after the explosion the company was unable to keep the fire burning.  Miss Lohan has been seen at a number of Paris shows this week, but was noticeably absent from the Ungaro show, leaving designer Estrella Archs' to a solo bow.  When asked about her absence from the show, Lohan told reporters she was no longer working with the Paris-based label, but for legal reasons was unable to discuss any further.

When asked about the reviews of last season's collection Archs told reporters, "You have ups and downs and you learn a lot, more from the downs than from the ups", confirming Lohan is no longer working with the label.  According to's Nicole Phelps, Archs' newest collection was "an improvement" over last season.
