Undocumented immigrants made gains in 2013

Nearly 13,000 illegal immigrants in Maryland signed up for “second-tier” driving license tests this month. If the test is passed, undocumented aliens can legally drive on state roads, register cars and obtain insurance. The card allows Maryland drivers licenses to meet security requirements of Real ID Act and illegals an opportunity to drive legally in the Free State.

The license issue was one of the biggest laws passed for illegal immigrants in 2013. The largest is probably the Maryland Dream Act approved by voters in 2012 and signed into law last year.

Baltimore City, Baltimore, Charles, Howard, Prince George’s and Montgomery counties – were also the ones that gave the winning margins to Question 4, in-state tuition for undocumented immigrant children.

While commie red Maryland is welcoming visitors who are in the country illegally, purple Virginia is standing in the gap. As of Jan. 1, voters can no longer use a utility bill, bank statement, government check, or paycheck that shows the name and address of the voter and a voter’s social security card as acceptable identification documents when voting at the polls on election day.

Rebeca Orellana Montano’s parents forced her to break the law and illegally enter the United States when she was five-years-old. Apparently the George Mason frosh never considered emigrating back to her native Bolivia or applying for U.S. citizenship. Instead, she has chosen to live outside the law.

Now she is suing Arlington County, VA, for in-state tuition rates.

Virginia does not have a so-called dream act like its liberal neighbor. However, the Legal Aid Justice Center filed a lawsuit on behalf of Montano and seven others claiming the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program should apply to tuition.

DACA allows undocumented children bought to Virginia to work in the United States, obtain a social security number, a Virginia driver’s license, and they can renew their DACA status indefinitely.

Washington, D.C. also provides a drivers license to non U.S. citizens.
