Underwood and Swift were in the news, in a negative way, following the 55th Grammy Awards. A rumor surfaced that Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift were enemies, but The Huffington Post, on Feb. 12, 2013, reports the rumor is untrue. Underwood told Gayle King of "CBS This Morning," on the rumor, "No . . . not that I know of, at least."
Assuming the rumor between the two country/pop singers is false, can Swift afford more headlines that focus on negative aspects instead of her music?
As for Underwood, most consider her a beautiful country music princess. Her image does not include anything that taints that reputation. The 29-year-old "American Idol" winner and wife of Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher has a happy marriage and enjoys a successful career.
Swift, 23, also has an incredibly successful career, but lately her love life and her attitude are making the headlines. Her reputation for writing about her ex-boyfriends, for dating teenagers and for allegedly using a British accent to mock Harry Styles at the 2013 Grammys, doesn't keep the focus on her music.
