Carrie Underwood wears $31 million necklace to the 2013 Grammys (Photos)

Country singer Carrrie Underwood was nominated for a few Grammy Awards, but according to a Feb. 10 PEOPLE report, her top honor was the $31 million necklace she rocked to the 2013 Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The singer who stunned in a black strapless Roberto Cavalli gown shocked fans with a whopping $31 million worth of Johnathon Arndt jewelry. Her necklace featured 381 carats of oval, pear, marquise and round brilliant white diamonds, according to PEOPLE.

“It’s heavy on my soul,” Underwood told E! News of the creation. “I’m afraid someone is going to tackle me and steal it … It’s worth more than me.”

The necklace actually overwhelmed the singer’s stunning Cavalli gown. Fans are used to seeing Underwood in Arndt gems on the red carpet. She is a huge fan of the jewelry, but $31 million is just a tad bit more than she normally rocks on the red carpet. Did she think the dress was too plain and needed something more than the usual $1million worth of gems?

Will this be the new red carpet trend for Underwood or other celebrities?

The Grammys aired on CBS on Feb. 10.
