The "dead man" will put his streak on the line once again. According to a February 28th report by PWInsider.com, The Undertaker has been confirmed to take on CM Punk at WM 29 on Sunday, April 27th. The legendary wrestler will appear on RAW within the next few weeks (most likely March 4th) to begin his feud with CM Punk and set up their WM 29 match on-air.
Last week, The Undertaker made a surprise return to the WWE at a live event and was still sporting his bald look. He has been rumored to face Punk since last summer. However, from the feedback I have received, most WWE fans are disappointed in this match because nobody (other than CM Punk) believes that The Undertaker will lose.
Taker's streak is one of the best things in WWE history, and I for one don't want it to ever end. Unfortunately, this makes it hard for the WWE to provide credible opponents for The Undertaker. And, CM Punk is no longer a credible opponent since he lost to the Rock at both the Royal Rumble PPV in January and the Elimination Chamber PPV in February. To make matters worse, CM Punk lost a #1 contender's match against John Cena on the February 25th episode of RAW. Despite the match being one of the best TV matches WWE has put on in the last few years, Punk has lost 3 straight high-profile matches and provides no legitimate threat to Taker's streak. Only Cena, The Rock, Brock Lesnar and maybe Ryback could provide enough doubt that fans would actually tune in.
So I ask you readers - do you even care about this WM 29 match of Undertaker vs. CM Punk?
