Understanding demons Bible-style V, creators of supernatural phenomena

Demons do have supernatural power. We have to recognize that. They were originally created as the angels of God before they were stripped of their positions during the satanic rebellion. Now they do everything possible to keep humanity away from God by providing us with counterfeit paranormal experiences. That's why God put warnings in the Bible of their spiritual deceptions beginning with the prophet Moses:

You must never sacrifice your sons or daughters by burning them alive, practice black magic, be a fortuneteller, witch, or sorcerer, cast spells, ask ghosts or spirits for help, or consult the dead. Whoever does these things is disgusting to the LORD. – Deuteronomy 18:10-12a, GW

Never cast evil spells, and never consult fortunetellers. – Leviticus 19:26b, GW

Do not defile yourselves by turning to mediums or to those who consult the spirits of the dead. I am the Lord your God. – Leviticus 19:31, NLT

Those verses above don't specify that demons are the ones behind those paranormal activities. But it's important for us to know first of all that God forbids these practices. But why does He forbid them? Every one of those verses are talking about supernatural activity or occult phenomena. God would not forbid such activities if He was behind them.

One popular belief is that we have these powers within our own selves if we just tap into our "higher selves" for example. Many mediums today would hold that belief. But there actually are a few Bible references that specify the origins of these types of paranormal activity.

And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. – II Corinthians 11:14, ESV

Note: Satan (or other demons) pretends to be a good angel, which tells us who we may actually be consulting with when we ask spirits for help or go to a medium.

But Elymas the sorcerer …resisted them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith. But Saul, who also is called Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and gazing intently at him, he said, "O full of all guile and all craft, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?" – Acts 13:8-10, EMTV

Note: a sorcerer is accused by the apostle Paul as being a son of the devil.

One day when we were going to the place of prayer, a female servant met us. She was possessed by an evil spirit that told fortunes. She made a lot of money for her owners by telling fortunes. – Acts 16:16, GW

Note: this is a woman engaged in fortunetelling through the power of an evil spirit.

All these activities go on regularly in the world today. Be careful if you have involved yourself with anything that sounds like these paranormal practices.

In the end days, these supernatural phenomena will be put on high speed. They will be even more prominent than they are now–through Satan's key leaders who will control world affairs in future days:

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the Beast, and out of the mouth of the False Prophet. For they are spirits of demons performing signs, which go forth to the kings of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. – Revelation 16:13,14, EMTV

Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed. …This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. – II Thessalonians 2:8-10, NLT

The supernatural activities of demons always has the purpose of taking people away from a relationship with God and into a relationship with the devil–whether a person knows it or not.

If you have been engaged in the work of evil spirits similar to any practice you have read above, I encourage you to take the attitude of some of the first Christians who recognized the same thing:

And many of those who had believed were coming, confessing and disclosing their deeds. And many of those who were practicing magic brought together their books and burned them up before all. And they counted up the prices of them, and found it to be fifty thousand pieces of silver. Thus the word of the Lord was growing powerfully and prevailed. – Acts 19:18-20, EMTV
