Sub-Alterity is a touring exhibition of underground art, concept-driven and featuring eleven unique, visionary artists from Los Angeles, Long Beach, and abroad. The paintings, installations, and multi-media presentations collectively and independently express the contradictory, boundary-shattering urban[organic] consciousness.
Collectors, businesses, and art connoisseurs are invited to view, discuss, and purchase the works presented at Sub-Alterity. There will be refreshments provided by local sponsors, music from area musicians and DJs as well as installations and performances over the days of the event, to be announced as further artists sign on.
2nd City Council Art Gallery + Performance Space is a bright and area facility housed in a former tin shop in the Long Beach East Village Arts District, across the street from the Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA). 2cc is a non-profit gallery established to support the arts and local culture development through education and expression.
The Mezz in Downtown Los Angeles occupied the second story ballroom of the historic Alexandria, overlooking Gallery Row, which illuminates the entire downtown area with artists and enthusiasts the second Thursday of every month. Complete with Victorian decorative fixtures, a stage, and full bar, this place redefines classy with a dark, artsy, thoroughly underground (though it is above ground) vibe.
