With a current lineup consisting of Janet Gardner, Roxy Petrucci, Share Pedersen and Gina Stile, Vixen was a popular all female rock band that achieved commercial success during the late 1980's and early 1990's as part of the Los Angeles, California glam metal scene. At the time, Vixen was often referred to as the “female Bon Jovi.”
Along with Such popular rock acts such as Megadeth, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, London, Poison and W.A.S.P., Vixen was featured in the 1988 documentary “The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years”, produced by Penelope Spheeris.
Also in 1988, Vixen was signed to EMI Records, releasing their self-titled debut album later that same year. Vixen’s self titled debut album spawned three singles including one of their more successful songs, “Edge of a Broken Heart.”
Yesterdays announcement of Undercover Betty being chosen as Vixen’s opening act comes during an all-time high for the local Tampa Bay band. Undercover Betty recently received the most votes in the Tampa Bay regionals of the "2014 Hard Rock Rising Global Battle of the Bands" competition. The band will be performing at the Tampa Hard Rock Café on April 9th, four days after the Vixen concert, as part of the Hard Rock Rising competition.
Undercover Betty has also been hard at work in the studio, recording songs for their up-coming debut CD. Undercover Betty’s yet untitled CD is being produced by Tom Parish, and will be released on the independent Shark Alley Records label.
