Stephen King is writing and directing the first episode of Season 2, which will air on June 30. He tweeted that production started March 3. According to the Wilmington StarNews, filming will travel between Wilmington, Burgaw and Southport, N.C., as production continues into July.

You may recall the big church in Chester's Mill, and that location is in Southport; we'll be seeing more of it in Season 2, with new scenes filmed this week.

NCasting is handling extras casting for "Under the Dome," and they've been posting casting calls for scenes being taped Monday, March 10 in Southport. One casting call posted March 8 requested people who worked the church scene in the Season 1 finale to return for a "physical scene" shooting on March 10 in Southport.

Another casting call posted March 9 was looking for "a few more ethnic men and women between 18-45 years old to work starting in the afternoon" on March 10 in Southport. "You will be required to do physical activity," they added.

If you think you're a fit for that gig — or any future casting calls — head to this Facebook page for the details they'd like you to submit.

It was previously revealed that two major characters won't make it through the UTD Season 2 premiere, so fans should be in for a season of big shockers. Are you ready?
