This dome covering Chester's Mill isn't keeping anyone out, including people we thought were dead.

According to a Feb. 20 report from TV Guide, "ER" alum Sherry Stringfield has joined the cast of "Under the Dome" Season 2. She'll play Pauline, described as "a mysterious woman who may be connected to the origins of the dome."

TV Guide didn't share more official details, but they added that it wasn't hard to connect the dots from a previous spoiler story they ran, teasing, "Even under the dome, it's possible to see new faces, but none will rock Big Jim and Junior's world as much as the return of the eccentric Pauline Rennie, aka Junior's mom and Big Jim's presumed-dead wife. Suffice it to say, the mommy issues will be out in full force!"

So it looks like Stringfield will be playing the wife of Dean Norris's Big Jim Rennie and the mother of Alexander Koch's Junior Rennie.

"Under the Dome" Season 2 premieres June 30 on CBS with an episode written by author Stephen King himself. Previous spoilers have already mentioned that two characters will not make it past the first episode. (A casting notice offered a big hint on one potential death.)

Southport, North Carolina has been standing in for a good chunk of Chester's Mill, and the city's State Port Pilot recently said Season 2 filming would start in the first week of March. The show's producers told the city they planned to return to Southport to shoot for about six months. Filming is also being done in nearby Wilmington, N.C.

Stringfield isn't the only star joining UTD Season 2. As the Wilmington Star News noted, Eddie Cahill (“CSI: NY”) will play Big Jim’s reclusive brother-in-law, Sam; Karla Crome (“Misfits”) will play a schoolteacher named Rebecca; and Grace Victoria Cox will play Melanie, who ends up attracted to Joe (Colin Ford).

But Stringfield is certainly a big draw, and executive producer Neal Baer issued a statement when announcing her casting. "I'm thrilled after all these years to be working again with Sherry Stringfield. We had a blast on ER together and I know Sherry will bring the same grace, spirit and intensity to her new, pivotal role on Under the Dome."
