“Let the Games Begin” is tonight’s all new episode of “Under the Dome.” Beware of spoilers! Be sure to check out the slideshow for more quotes from tonight’s episode. “Under the Dome” airs Monday nights at 9 on CBS (KHOU).
Most of this episode features characters catching people up on what the viewers already know. While it makes sense that people have to be told things, it still isn’t the most entertaining thing to watch, especially when this recapping takes up a good bit of the episode. It helps if the reveal to another character changes something significant or has some impact other than what the viewers know. Barbie coming clean to Julia allows their relationship to move forward. Angie updating Joe and Norrie just takes a bit more time before Junior gets his hand on the mini dome. Some of it is necessary to move the story along, but when it feels like an entire episode is basically other people finding out things another character and a viewer already know, it is boring. Do you agree?
You know, it’s really surprising that it has taken this long for there to be an underground casino type place. What else is there to do in a dome world? Most people have seen Fight Club, so someone had to have thought of the idea, and the person who puts it into action is Max. This is the first time viewers have caught a glimpse of the underbelly of Chester’s Mill. Sure, there have been riots, but that has been for food. It would have been great to spend a little bit more time in the cement factory, as long as it doesn’t involve watching fights. The Max and Barbie part of this storyline really isn’t all that exciting. She reminds him over and over that she owns him. There isn’t much likable chemistry between them, and mostly she is annoying whenever she appears on screen. What do you think of Max?
The mini dome takes its first victim! Apparently, it does not like to be touched by random people, which poor Dodee found out. What this does is prove that the mini dome is smarter than your average dome shielding an egg. It definitely has some sort of brain. Is anyone else still not buying that Joe carried the mini dome to its new location? Something just doesn’t seem right. Junior is the fourth hand, which isn’t shocking. There aren’t that many kids in Chester’s Mill that the viewers are familiar with. What are your thoughts on all things mini dome?
