Jim: “This dome can’t break us. Chester’s Mill will live to see tomorrow, and next year, and every year after that.”
“Exigent Circumstances” is tonight’s all new episode of “Under the Dome.” Beware of spoilers! Be sure to check out the slideshow for more quotes from tonight’s episode. The season finale of “Under the Dome” airs next Monday night at 9 on CBS (KHOU).
Junior has been one of the more frustrating characters. He is either acting a little crazy by kidnapping Angie and claiming he is trying to save her, or he is being a follower. He joins things and rarely thinks for himself, especially when it comes to his dad. Their relationship flip flops all the time. At some moments, they hate each other, and then they are back to loving one another. Part of it is excusable, especially Junior running to his dad after having the dome vision of Big Jim dying. Other parts, are a little annoying. This episode ends with Junior beginning to open his eyes a bit. Hopefully Junior will continue to move forward. He could be an interesting character. What are your Junior thoughts?
Big Jim is in control even more so than usual. He manages to convince everyone of Barbie’s guilt. Linda should know better. She should at least approach this as a detective. Now when she walked up on two dead bodies and Barbie with a gun drawn on Jim, it made sense for her to think the worst. Her assuming that Barbie would shoot Julia, and then take her to the hospital? That just does not make sense. Linda is becoming frustrating. It wouldn’t be hard to show her acting more reluctantly or at least looking into other possibilities. She is not coming off like a good cop in those scenes. Do you agree?
Here are quick thoughts on elsewhere in the episode. The mini dome scenes are confusing. There isn’t anything revealed, well other than it can make a screeching noise. The writers need to at least give the viewers something concrete about the dome in every episode, even if it is something small. What’s confusing is how everyone on the outside world knows what is going on in the dome. They are aware of the egg. Do they have a bunch of high grade satellites monitoring everything? If so, wouldn’t they be more aware of what is going on? It makes sense that they know about Jim killing the reverend, considering he did it at the dome wall. Since the focus of “Under the Dome” is on Chester’s Mill, it is hard to see how the writers will reveal some of this questions about what is happening outside the dome. There really need to be scenes with the military and everyone who is monitoring the dome, but the show isn’t set up that way. What are your theories and thoughts?
