Ammy Hennig, the creative director and writer of Sony's "Uncharted" series, has left developer Naughty Dog, IGN reported Tuesday night.

Sources close to the award-winning developer told IGN Hennig was "forced out" by "The Last of Us" creative heads Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley. She was working on the next "Uncharted" title, which was revealed late last year with a teaser trailer. Those sources said that game is now under the control of Druckmann and Straley.

Hennig recently celebrated her 10th anniversary at the studio. She served as creative director and writer on all three of the Naughty Dog's "Uncharted" titles. IGN reached out to Sony, who did confirm Hennig had left the studio, but offered no further details.

"We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted," the statement read.
