Unborn baby reaches out of womb to hold doctors finger (video)

A photo released Wednesday has gone viral because of how unusual it is; the hand of an unborn baby reaches out of the womb to grab the hand of the doctor who is performing its C-section. See the video below for video of the story from the Boston Globe.

The baby girl, Nevaeh Atkins was born in October in Phoenix, AZ. During a C-section birth, the doctor looked up at the father, Randy Atkins (who had a camera in his hand) and said that you might want to get this and the father quickly snapped the now famous incredible photo of her hand reaching out of the womb.

Nevaeh’s mother, Alicia is a photographer and she wanted as much of the birth to be caught on camera as possible, and she got her wish. The photo is emotional and touching. The photo went viral on Facebook after Alicia posted it to her page with the caption:

Truly amazing. I am in awe of this photo.

And now, so is the rest of the world.
