UN bird flu warning: potential convenient crisis taking flight

As cold and flu season approaches, the UN has put out a warning that a freshly mutated and more deadly version of H5N1 Bird flu is taking flight. The fact that migratory birds are now heading for warmer places is being highlighted as a threat for potential pandemic, according to CBN.

But when Swine flu new was plastered throughout multiple mainstream media outlets and then all the fuss died down in 2010, an interesting report came out from the Washington Post that the Swine flu was hyped for the benefit of drug makers.  There were also many American citizens who believed it was hyped to push through Obama’s unwanted nationalized healthcare. Incidentally, Rasmussen reported on Monday that a “telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows that 57% at least somewhat favor repeal of the health care law, including 46% who Strongly Favor repeal.”  In addition, “Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters think health care costs will go up under the new law, while just 15% expect those costs to go down. Nineteen percent (19%) predict costs will stay about the same. Anywhere from 52% to 61% of voters have expected an increase in health care costs in weekly surveys since the law's passage.”

As for the pharmaceutical companies, a Financial Times article back in July of 2009 stated that drug companies could potentially make billions off the vaccine.  The lucrative potion also created a situation in which they got to double dip because not only did the US purchase 195 million doses with taxpayer money, but also healthcare providers were allowed to charge a fee to those who received the vaccine.

The Washington Times article stated that the first report, which originated from the Social, Health and Family Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe  had “launched an investigation in response to allegations that the WHO’s response to the pandemic was influenced by drug companies that make antiviral drugs and vaccines.”

The BMJ (a prominent British medical journal) and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism released the second report, and one thing that their joint investigation found is that the 2004 guidelines that the WHO developed were “based in part on the advice of three experts whoreceived consulting fees from the two leading manufacturers of antiviral drugs used against the virus, Roche and GlaxoSmithKline.”

The vaccine had been fast-tracked through the FDA and there were also reports that the side-effects of the vaccine may actually cause neurological issues in some of its recipients.

Another situation that is now thought to have been hyped is hurricane Irene. Irene is now being reported as considerably less severe than originally forecasted, according to The UK Telegraph.  But as hurricane Irene approached, the Huffington Post reported that retailers such as hardware stores, home improvement stores and grocery stores were getting a boost in sales because of Irene, while back to school shopping at the malls dropped off.

No doubt that there were plenty of people along the east coast who were praying that God would intervene and protect them from the storm, and CBN noted that when the Sun began shining on Sundayin Virginia, that there were many who werethanking Godfor His mercy.

"God intervened with this. We were just praying that the storm would disorganize, dissipate, weaken," Pastor Ken Gerry of the New Life Christian Center commented

In what many southeastern Virginia residents see as further evidence of God’s mercy, the flooding and damage from Irene reportedly brought only minor damage.
