Great Britain’s Prince Harry, sporting a #1 polo jersey in the 90-degree (F) sunshine, slipped off a polo pony during a charity polo match on June 27th in New York.
As his polo mount spooked, Prince Harry of Wales tumbled to the turf and fell into a back-flip on the polo grounds playing field. The 25-year-old Prince, unhurt, remounted and scored a goal for, the Black Rock team.
The opposing force, the Black Watch team (including Argentinian equestrian, Ralph Lauren World of Polo model and polo player Nacho Figueras), won the match in overtime, beating the Black Rock team (and British Prince Harry) 6-5.
The 3rd Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, held on New York’s Governor Island (south of Manhattan), benefited the American Friends of Sentebale, a charity for AIDS orphans in Africa. Prince Harry has promised to pursue philanthropic endeavors, continuing the charitable legacy of his mother, the late Princess Diana (who died in a 1997 car crash in Paris, France).
Many celebrities attended the 3rd Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on June 27th, including Carol Alt, Mary J. Blige, Val Kilmer, Jared Kushner, Josh Lucas, Julianna Margulies, Susan Sarandon, Rob Thomas, Ivanka Trump and others.
Son of British Prince Charles and younger brother to Prince William, Prince Harry currently stands third in line for the British throne. Recently, Prince Harry made headlines in celebrity and royal gossip columns, after breaking up with longtime love Chelsy Davy.
