Ugly flash mob empties mall in violent fashion

An ugly flash mob emptied a mall in Louisiana on Saturday, producing a very scary and dangerous situation for everyone involved in the scene.

At a mall in LA, about 200 teenagers gathered to perform a flash mob. But the scene became downright ugly once a fight broke out amongst the teens, and it sent those involved in the flash mob and those simply watching from a distance scrambling for the exits.

In newly released cell phone camera footage, which you can view below, you can see people trampling each other on the escalators to get away from the violence. And according to ABC News, employees that worked at the mall were told to leave their cashiers or other posts inside the stores and seek safety.

"We think there was some sort of post on social media about a flash mob for tonight which drew such a large crowd of juveniles," said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a spokeswoman for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office yesterday.

In the wake of the fight, a parent was interviewed by ABC News, telling them that she had been looking for her child for 30 minutes and still hadn’t located her.

For those unaware, a flash mob is a group of people—anywhere from a few to several thousands—who gather in a public place to “spontaneously” break out into synchronized dance. In actuality, the dances are rehearsed, but because they’re done in malls, shopping centers, or public parks, they’re perceived to be done without much preparation.
