On Saturday, an ugly flash mob empties mall in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The ugly flash mob involving an estimated 200 teens was planned and originated in the mall's food court, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office reported. The Mall of Louisiana was emptied Saturday night due to an evacuation for the safety of employees and shoppers, reported ABC News.
The ugly flash mob that emptied the mall was captured on a cellphone. The video, which is located to left of this article, shows all sorts of mayhem as people frantically ran for the closest exits. EBR Sheriff Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks released the following statement to media sources:
“We think there was some sort of post on social media about a flash mob for tonight which drew such a large crowd of juveniles.”
The events that led to the ugly flash mob are currently investigation, Hicks later said. However, there have been reports that the flash mob was triggered by a fight between two girls.
Several people involved in the chaos expressed their accounts of the event via Facebook:
“Saw people running and screaming I turned around a girl told me someone has a gun I started running with them,” shopper Missy Melancon wrote on Facebook.
“Never been that scared in my life,” Juston D’Nea Millet wrote on Facebook. “People were running everywhere. It was like a movie, but you were in it.”
"OMG! Glad to be alive!" wrote Alyce McKinney on Facebook. "Madison & i were 100 feet away from the fight that broke out @ Mall of La. with 200 juveniles involved! Stores shut their doors, people running everwhere, mall closed! Cops and helicopters everywhere! Heading home! Its already on tv news!"
According to the Daily Mail, after the ugly flash mob emptied the mall, police arrested 10 people and charges are pending.
