On Wednesday Access Hollywood confirmed the news that many of us have been expecting for months: "Ugly Betty" has been canceled following four seasons on ABC. The show, which originally debuted to high numbers before "Grey's Anatomy" on Thursday, has been slowly losing an audience ever since.
Some might blame the end of "Betty" on ABC for their controversial decision to move the show to Friday nights this past fall; many people refer to Friday as the "place TV shows go to die." The network ultimately changed their mind and tried putting it on after "Modern Family" and "Cougar Town" on Wednesdays, but that didn't fare much better. The show's ratings are on average less than half of what they were for the first season.
For the show's diehard fans, this is certainly a major loss since the show was considering to be a critical favorite this season. The final eight episodes will air, but after that "Betty" will be no more.
So what's next to be axed by ABC? It's looking like "Scrubs" and "Better Off Ted," which both barely received renewals last May, will say their goodbyes at some point over the next few months.

Another good show gone. But I'm going to be sooooooo much more sad once they cancel "Better Off Ted". That show is insanely great.
I will be sadder if Better of Ted bites the dust. Angry even.
Please move Better Off Ted to Wednesdays. Scrubs has had it's day, and lost it's star. Ted is the funniest show on ABC. It belongs on Comedy Wednesday.
Better off Ted better not be dead. Thanks to hapless marketing by ABC I had never even HEARD of this show until a science-fiction blog I read name-checked it. It's hilarious. And even my wife, who hates science fiction and deplores bad action LOVES this show. It's whip smart, funny and brilliantly acted, not to mention spot on in it's satire of modern corporate greed and misanthropy. ("Misanthropy." Too much?)
SO sad. I love Betty. It's a great show & much more family-oriented than many other shows.

I hate to see this show go, like when I watched the last episode to this season I was expecting Betty to start fresh and new at her new job and then I realized that is was the last show ever. Huge disappointment because it always made me laugh and I looked forward to it every Wednesday. So now my disappointment is that I don't have a reason to look forward to Wednesday. Why would you want to cancel it?
I love her please bring ugly Betty back.
