As we move closer to the beginning of the 2010 gymnastics season, head coach Jay Clark announced that sophomore gymnast Amber Trani has succumbed to an injury she suffered before the 2008 Olympic Trials, effectively ending her active gymnastics career.
Trani did not compete in 2009, due to the back injury. Although her career in active gymnastics has ended, Clark suggested that her experience will be valuable to the 2010 team.
“It has been a tough road for Amber since her injury,” Coach Clark stated on www.georgiadogs.com. “She has been and will remain involved with our team this year, and she understands that she can still have a role in our success. We fully support Amber in all of her future endeavors.”
The defending national champion Gym Dogs will begin their season under first-year head coach Jay Clark on Jan. 5th v. Stanford in Athens.
