On Dec. 20, 2013, the United Film & Television Artists (UFTA), out of Fort Myers, Fla., announced an update on their next meeting plus more news on the pre-production level of their film. Also, out of Fort Myers, UFTA's President Al Quinn, shares about all the above.
"I continue to keep the organization posted on all things film-related. I'm referring to the film 'Casting.' We will have our next UFTA meeting in January, and we look forward to shooting our film that month as well.
UFTA has been planning such a film for years. We have been actively working on it all this year."
Due to so many stages involved in shooting a film, it is no wonder UFTA members have been busy. Quinn shares what they have been up too when it comes to the short, indie film.
"Concerning 'Casting' we have been busy with its many stages for quite a while now. The thinking stage took about five years, the announcing we were going to produce a film took all of a year, and the actual active part of pre-production has taken, so far, several months.
Finally, about a year ago, we began dedicating part of our monthly meetings to all things film!"
According to Quinn, UFTA has been busy recently scouting shoot locations. He is also looking ahead for when the film is in the can.
"We began casting for the film in spring 2013, and then held readings and rehearsals up to early fall of this year as well.
Now our film team is working on shoot locations, and we hope to begin shooting Jan. 2014."
Readers can look forward to more about this film and UFTA. The film, by the way, is about the dos and don'ts of casting.
