In addition, film producer Richard Watts was one of the special guests!

UFTA Vice President Geri Muck led the meeting. She opened with the minutes, soon followed by the reading of the organization's purpose. After other business was covered, including the film "Casting," Muck asked that everyone introduce themselves.

Geri Muck is the owner of Protocol Models, and as VP she introduced the guest speakers. UFTA President Al Quinn was part of the meeting by proxy.

Al Quinn, even though you were in NYC at the time, did you have anything to do with setting up the meeting, and who kept you informed?

"Our treasurer Carrie Belluso kept me informed. Yes, I set up the meeting at Perkins Restaurant in their special meeting room, and over 25 were in attendance. The meeting normally begins at 7 p.m. with networking at 6:30 p.m., but guests began showing up before 6 p.m., and several of them came from out of town!"

Do you usually have guest speakers?

"Having guest speakers is one of our goals, so yes we do. That is mostly what our organization is all about - informing others about the entertainment industry, in all areas of it."

Who were the guests?

"Maggie McCarty is the film commissioner/director for SW Florida, and she is a long time friend and supporter of UFTA as well. UFTA also supports her. We were honored that she accepted to speak to us. The Paradise Coast Film Commission is located at 755 8th Avenue South in Naples, just south of Fort Myers.

Photographer Angel Navarro, of Angel Navarro Photography, spoke on the importance of having a professional photograph to represent one's self, and how to go about obtaining it. Geri Muck shared her ideas too, as she sees the good, bad and ugly of headshots every day."

What did UFTA members and guests take away that night?

"They know now that they can ask Maggie anything when it comes to shooting film, and that this is a great location to shoot in!

Navarro shared the importance of the proper use of light, and that we can't have shape or color without it. Among other wonderful comments, including a slide show, he said that he creates a look."

Among the many guests at the meeting, film producer Richard Watts and many of his cast and crew, were there and joined in and talked about their film. That included Watts' daughter Arielle, Miles Christian-Hart and his family, and others. Angel Navarro and Miles presented a special film poster to Watts of "The 4th Letter of Ponce de Leon."

Discussion on more entertainment topics ensued, and the meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m. Learn about UFTA and its members on Facebook.
