UFOs Ghosts and Dan Aykroyd's Ghostbusters

Who ya gonna call?

The Arizona Ghostbusters are helping kick off the release of the new Ghostbuster’s video game,  with a celebration on Monday, June 15th at GameStop, 5707 W Northern Ave # 105, Glendale, AZ 85301 from 7 PM - 12 AM.  The Arizona Ghostbusters  will have a meet and greet to collect donations for the Salvation Army. Activities will include raffles for prizes to benefit the Salvation Army, face painting and screenings of "Ghostbusters" 1 and 2 will be followed with the release of the video game for purchase at Midnight, plus, free popcorn.  This group of volunteers does great work throughout the valley.  Please check out their website for all the details.

Here’s the scoop on the new video game ~

“The Ghostbusters are back in an all new story penned by the original creators. With Manhattan newly overrun by ghosts and other supernatural creatures, it’s up to you to take on the role of a new recruit joining the original film cast of the famous Ghostbusters team.  Equipped with a variety of unique weapons and gadgets, you will hunt, fight and capture a wide range of uncanny phantasms and demons in an all new funny and frightening battle to save New York City from its latest paranormal plague.”

Due to his interest in the paranormal world, Dan Aykroyd was inspired to co-write the screenplays for GHOSTBUSTERS, AND GHOSTBUSTERS II.  There’s a great story about the paranormal experiences of Aykroyd’s family that recently appeared in an article in the New York Times by Seth Schiesel.

Aykroyd is not only interested in the paranormal, but also UFOs and is a member of MUFON.

How is Aykroyd tied to our Phoenix Llights?

March 13, 1997 marked the date in history for the Phoenix Lights experience with multiple UFO sightings across the states of Nevada and Arizona.  Aykroyd used some of the UFO footage over Phoenix shot by local UFOlogist, Jeff Willes, on the DVD, Dan Aykroyd Unplugged on UFOs.  Aykroyd has been visited by the actual Men In Black, prior to the shut-down of his sci-fi channel late night interactive talk show, Out There, based on unexplainable phenomena.

Aykroyd is a fascinating person and this is just the beginning of the story.  Watch for part two.

Why doesn't the public focus on more serious issues like green jobs and energy independence? Are we simply a consumer nation? Check out the "Business and Finance" section of the Phoenix Examiner edition for more info on a new bill that may transform the country.
