A Pennsylvania witness reports watching a UFO along eastbound Route 422 between Oaks and Trooper at 7:55 a.m. on August 22, 2011, that appeared and disappeared as it was being observed, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
This is the second report of a UFO along this same stretch of Pennsylvania highway. We previously reported: Pennsylvania UFO hovers 20 feet off ground along Route 422 - an August 5, 2011, event where the object was hovering 20 feet off of the ground.
In the most recent case from August 22, the witness first saw a "very bright reflection" from what was assumed to be an airplane.
"It was round and bright and then it simply vanished," the witness stated. "I kept looking but there was no airplane in the area."
As the witness looked, the object was seen again "slightly to the left" or where it originally was seen.
"I was looking right at it and it disappeared again - like it just all of the sudden became invisible. Then briefly, there was a static sound emitted from my car speakers."
The witness had a third sighting - this time "heading into Trooper."
"I thought I was just seeing things, but as I was coming around the bend from Oaks heading into Trooper, I saw it again - this time over the Valley Forge area. Same thing - bright light about the size of a penny from my view on the road, and then gone. "
The witness "Googled UFO and 422" and read a story about the first sighting - and decided to file the report.
No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on August 22, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Oaks is a village in Montgomery County, PA, 18 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
Pennsylvania is a current UFO ALERT 3 rating, with a high number of UFO sightings nationally. Pennsylvania had 39 reports in July 2011 - the second highest reporting state - while California had 54 UFO reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.

Driving on 422 East Bound @7:55 AM on 8/22/11 I spotted in the sky a very bright reflection from what I thought was an airplane. It was round an bright and then it simply vanished. I kept looking but there was no airplane in the area.
Then it appeared again slightly to the left of where it originally appeared. I was looking right at it and it disappeared again like it just all of the sudden became invisible. Then briefly, there was a static sound emitted from my car speakers.
I thought I was just seeing things but as I was coming around the bed from Oaks heading into Trooper I saw it again this time over the Valley Forge area. Same thing...bright light about the size of a penny from my view on the road, and then gone.
Again I looked for a plane but there was no plane.
I am not a big believer in UFOs but what I experienced today has really baffled me. When I got to work I Googled UFO and 422 and to my surprise I happened upon a recent article about a sighting off of 422 in the same area a few weeks ago. So...I figured this would be worth reporting as well.
