UFO sightings: Reports of UFO sightings in Texas and Vancouver

Reports of UFO sightings in recent months point to different areas in the nation, especially Texas and Vancouver. A witness claims to have seen a low-flying object that was square-shaped flying over Austin on June 25 at 9:25 p.m.

Inquisitr reports July 2 that the witness spotted the UFO driving on a street in Austin heading westbound.

The witness says of the sighting:

"I observed what appeared to be a square, low-flying object approaching me from the east. There were four unwavering lights, two red and two yellow. There was very little space between the lights, giving the appearance of a compact square. Strangely, it seemed that one of the sides was its leading edge, not one of the angles.”

After a while the flying object disappeared, but reappeared later. He described the object has making a humming sound, traveling about 25 mph, and at an altitude of 300-feet. It eventually disappeared again.

The same thing happened in Gainesville, Texas on Thursday at around 11 a.m. This time a whole block of witnesses were there to see triangle-shaped UFO floating low over a neighborhood, according to the report.

One witness recalls:

"The lights were lined up horizontally, and then right before it disappeared, the lights instantly lined up vertically as if the object turned on its side and then sped away."

287 UFO sightings have been recorded in May alone for Austin this year.

According to a self-described skywatcher in Vancouver, sightings of UFOs have been spotted in the area. Straight.com reports that Charles Lamoureux says he saw objects with Lunar Optics vision on June 30 and July 1. What he discovered weren't known satellites. In early 2014, he posted a video of a sighting he previously reported.

Lamoureux once told CTV:

"Why would they not come here? We have a beautiful planet."

Economist did a unique study on UFO sightings and other factors that "could" come into play. It has to do with the time of day the sightings are being reported and what states have the highest reported sightings. Nearly 90,000 sightings have been recorded in the U.S. since 1974. The states with the most reports come from Washington and the Canadian border, where the Northern lights are visible at times.

The report notes pot is legal in Washington and they also altered their research data based on the sobriety of those reporting UFO sightings -- and the time of day.
